You can use Lyric Companion without creating an account or providing any personal information. All libretto content, IPA transcriptions, and dictionary features are available without sign-in.

Analytics

We use privacy-friendly, cookieless analytics (Plausible) to understand how the site is used. This collects:

• Page views and referrer URLs
• Country-level location (no city or IP address stored)
• Browser and device type

No personally identifiable information (PII) is collected. No cookies are set for analytics purposes. Plausible is GDPR-compliant and does not track individual users across sessions.

Cookies

Lyric Companion uses only essential browser storage:

• Theme preference — stored in localStorage to remember your light/dark mode choice
• CSRF token — a session cookie used to protect form submissions from cross-site request forgery

No third-party tracking cookies are used.

Future: sign-in

We may add optional Google Sign-In in the future to enable features like saved vocabulary lists. If implemented, we would collect only your email address and display name. This data would be used solely to identify your account and would not be shared with third parties.

Data storage

Lyric Companion does not store any user-generated content on its servers. All libretto data is sourced from public collections and processed locally.
